5. Amar Jawan Jyoti flame has been merged with the newly constructed National War Memorial flame, where is the National War Memorial located?
- New Delhi
- The Amar Jawan Jyoti flame at India Gate has been merged with the flame of the newly constructed National War Memorial, New Delhi.
- The program was presided over by the Chief of the Integrated Defense Staff, Air Marshal Balabhadra Radha Krishna.
- India Gate was unveiled in 1931 in honor of the supreme sacrifice of 70,000 soldiers of British India.
- The Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate was inaugurated by the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on the Republic Day of 1972 in memory of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
- Tributes were being paid to the martyrs with the flame of Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, but there the names of those soldiers were not inscribed on the memorial, which is now displayed at the newly built National War Memorial.
- The newly constructed National War Memorial was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 25 February 2019.
