• Renowned actor, producer, and screenwriter Rajinikanth have been honored with the prestigious 51st 'Dada Saheb Phalke Award' at the 67th National Film Awards ceremony.

• The award is named after Dhundiraj Govind Phalke who is considered the father of Indian cinema.
