1. Recently which pension scheme has been launched by the central government for the workers of the unorganized sector?
- Donate-a-Pension
- The Union Ministry of Labor and Employment on Monday launched a "Donate-a-Pension" scheme allowing any citizen to pay a premium amount on behalf of an unorganized worker under the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maan-Dhan Yojana.
- The pension scheme, which was launched in 2019, allows workers in the unorganized sector between the ages of 18 and 40, who earn up to ₹15,000 a month, to enroll by paying a premium amount between ₹55 and ₹200 Returns, which will be matched on the basis of age. by the government. On reaching the age of 60 years, the beneficiaries will get ₹3,000 monthly pensions. According to the portal of the Ministry of Labor, there were 46.34 lakh enrollments in the scheme till March 3.
- Launching the scheme, Labor Minister Bhupendra Yadav said that he himself has paid the premium of the gardener working in his house. The scheme allows a citizen to "donate premium contributions of domestic workers, drivers, helpers, caregivers, nurses to their immediate support staff at their home or establishment," the ministry said in a statement.
- The donor can pay the contribution for at least one year with an amount of ₹660 to ₹2,400 per annum, depending on the age of the beneficiary, through maandhan.in or by visiting the Common Service Centre.
